Community Innovation and Challenge Grant Program
Town of Royalston and CSC Collaborative Effort

The Town of Royalston and the Community Software Consortium recently joined forces to file an application under the Commonwealth's Community Innovation Challenge (CIC) grant program. All CSC communities were listed separately as participating entities, with a number of town administrators and Boards of Selectmen signing the application in support. This $4 million grant program, as funded in the FY11 supplemental budget, is designed to encourage the development of municipal regionalization efforts and to fund projects focusing on improving efficiency. The Royalston/CSC proposal requests $290,700 for the purpose of developing and readying for “beta” testing foundation modules of a “cloud”-based integrated municipal financial management system.
